Role Responsibilities
HSMN Facilities Manager is responsible for Security Reception desk, Facilities operations and maintenance and reports to Executive Committee President. This is a flexible hour/week position with work hours in the evenings, weekends, holidays and during special temple events.
Security and Reception Management
Ensure HSMN security systems are operational, periodically checked and processes are followed.
Manage and be stationed at the Reception Desk. Interface with Temple visitors to greet and guide them as necessary.
Collaborate with HMSN Volunteers and Security Personnel as directed by Temple President and EC Admin and Volunteer Chair
Facilities Management
Develop repeatable processes to maintain facilities (daily, weekly., monthly. Annually)
Ensure the processes are executed with the help of HSMN Staff and contract workers. Expected to be hands-on as appropriate
Work with Executive Committee (EC) to estimate and procure materials as needed for HSMN operations and non-religious events
Work with various EC and Trustee Executive Council (TEC) members to execute routine and special events/projects including major repairs and capital projects.
Responsible to engage contractors and suppliers for periodic maintenance activities and their timely payments
Partner with Temple Manager to engage the City and/or State officials in order to support periodic or special events conducted by HSMN
Work with Temple Manager and be the backup as needed.
Private Events Coordination and Execution
Support EC Admin Chair to rent HSMN facilities to private events
Procure materials for events in collaboration with EC Admin chair and ensure its storage and/or disposition as appropriate.
Engage staff and contract labor to meet commitments made by HSMN to the satisfaction of HSMN community
Salary and compensation package
Annual salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Health Insurance coverage.
Three weeks paid annual leave.
The first six months of employment is probationary
Required education and work experience
Degree from a recognized university or a combination of education and work experience.
Prior experience in a Non-Profit 501(c)3 organization in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
Able to work 20 - 40 hours per week. Working hours to be coordinated with the temple manager and President to maximize coverage at the temple during the day, evenings, and weekends and during special temple events.
Initiative to work with a high level of energy and creativity and have good problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational, time management, follow-through and multi-tasking skills.
A high level of personal and professional integrity with good communication skills.
Available to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
Fluency with Microsoft Office and accounting software such as QuickBooks.
US Citizen/Green card holder/valid work permit holder will be considered
Desired skills:
Fluency in one or two Indian languages.
Willing to perform other duties as necessary or required by the Temple Executive Committees
Willing to put in additional effort as required during large-scale special events.
