About the Role

The Hindu Society of Minnesota (HSMN) is seeking a motivated and dynamic
individual for the position of Temple Manager. As the largest Hindu temple in North America,
HSMN has been dedicated to preserving and promoting Hindu traditions and cultural heritage.
The Temple Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations, office
administration, personnel management, and building maintenance of the temple. If you are a

High-level Requirements:

  • Provide oversight and direction to temple employees, maintain employee schedules and files ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

  • Keep Executive Committee (EC) leadership abreast of employee, devotee, or facility needs/ grievances/concerns.

  • Maintain accurate employee files, including documentation of paid time off, annual reviews, and immigration-related documents.

  • Maintain and secure all temple records, including deeds, permits, member contact information, insurance agreements, individual employee HR files, etc.

  • Day-to-day management of the temple donations including the processing of payroll.

  • Handle payments for invoices and expense reimbursements, auditorium rentals; Create FDTs for Operational payments wherever applicable.

  • Ensure the temple building and the temple utilities comply with city codes and regulations and communicate with leadership.

  • Plan and procure materials and equipment for temple maintenance. Maintain a list of preferred contractors and suppliers. Collaborate with committee members to negotiate contracts.

  • Coordinate temple security with our security partners and law enforcement to

  • ensure the safety of visitors at events.

  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency response procedures.

Required Education and Work Experience:

  • Degree from a recognized university or a combination of education and work experience.

  • Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a 501(c)3 organization, preferably overseeing staff.

  • Key Skills and Qualifications:

    • Proactive, energetic, and creative approach to problem-solving.

    • Strong organizational, time management, follow-through, and multitasking skills.

    • Excellent communication skills with a high level of personal and professional integrity.

    • Appropriate delegation and facilitation of the work/duties to reporting staff members.

    • Experience using Microsoft Office and/or any accounting software.

    • Able to work under pressure.

    • Experience working with donors, volunteers, and board members.

    • Should be a team player who can collaborate, guide, and nurture temple staff and be able to work with temple volunteers who are diverse and come from different walks of Life.

Salary and Compensation Package:

  • Annual salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

  • Health insurance coverage.

  • Three weeks of paid annual leave.

  • A probationary period of one year.

Work Details:

  • This position is In-Person at the Hindu Temple of Minnesota

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and during special temple events. It is an exempt position.

  • A valid visa to work in the United States is required. The Hindu Society of Minnesota does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
