Considering upgrading my home security – what systems are people using?
Hey everyone, so I'm finally taking the plunge and upgrading my home security system. I've been putting it off for ages, but after a couple of recent break-ins in my neighborhood, I'm feeling like it's time. I'm not sure where to start, though – there are so many options out there! Wireless, wired, monitored, unmonitored... it's overwhelming. What kind of security systems are you guys using? Any recommendations (or warnings) based on your own experiences? I'm mainly concerned with deterring burglars and feeling safer when I'm home alone.

I know the feeling, it can definitely be overwhelming. I went through this a couple of years ago, and ended up getting a system with CCTV and an alarm. It's been pretty solid, and gives me peace of mind. I did some research online, and found https://lockandtech.com/ which services the NYC area. They seem to offer a range of options, from basic alarm systems to more comprehensive setups including intercoms and access control. Maybe browse their site to get a sense of different systems, then get a few quotes before you decide!
