Considering upgrading my home security – what systems are people using?
Hey everyone, so I'm finally taking the plunge and upgrading my home security system. I've been putting it off for ages, but after a couple of recent break-ins in my neighborhood, I'm feeling like it's time. I'm not sure where to start, though – there are so many options out there! Wireless, wired, monitored, unmonitored... it's overwhelming. What kind of security systems are you guys using? Any recommendations (or warnings) based on your own experiences? I'm mainly concerned with deterring burglars and feeling safer when I'm home alone.

It's interesting how technology has really changed home security. It wasn't so long ago that a simple alarm system was the height of sophistication. Now you've got everything from smart locks and video doorbells to complete home automation systems that can deter intruders and even alert the authorities automatically. The choices can be paralyzing!
