Why sports apps feel lighter than before

I’ve been noticing lately that sports apps don’t feel as “serious” as they used to. It’s like they’ve shifted toward something more relaxed and easygoing, almost like a background activity instead of something you focus on. I sometimes open them just out of habit, not because I have a specific goal. Do you think this is just how people use apps now, or are these platforms intentionally becoming more casual?

That’s actually a really good point, and I recently read something that explains this shift in a pretty clear way. The article https://newsbarrier.com/why-sports-betting-apps-are-now-judged-as-entertainment-products-first/ talks about how these platforms are now being designed primarily as entertainment experiences, which honestly matches what you’re describing. After reading it, I realized that I don’t approach these apps with the same mindset anymore.
