Which Japanese SUV would you recommend for a family in the UK?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice from people who have experience with Japanese SUVs in the UK. There are so many options available that it's difficult to know which model offers the best balance of reliability, comfort, and value for family use.
I've been researching jp used cars, and many people seem to recommend Japanese models because they're known for dependable engines and lower maintenance costs. However, I'd really like to hear real-world experiences rather than just reading reviews.
For a typical family, these are the things I think matter most:
Comfortable seating for four or five people.
Good luggage space for holidays, shopping, and school activities.
Strong reliability with affordable servicing.
Decent fuel economy for everyday driving.
Good safety features and a solid reliability record.
Easy availability of replacement parts in the UK.
Models like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, Nissan X-Trail, and Subaru Forester all seem to have good reputations, but each has its own strengths. Some appear more practical, while others seem better for motorway driving or occasional countryside trips.
I'm also curious whether hybrid versions are worth considering compared to traditional petrol models, especially when thinking about long-term ownership costs and reliability.
If you've owned any of these SUVs, what has your experience been like? Would you buy the same model again, or would you choose something different? I'd really appreciate hearing about reliability, running costs, comfort, and any unexpected issues you've encountered.
Looking forward to your recommendations and experiences!
